🎤 Last 22st February, independent expert Dr Chris van Tulleken presented evidence and information at the House of Lords, as part of the Food, Diet and Obesity Committe.

Great session, with many many strong unequivocal (data-driven) pieces of information, can be viewed here.

While the internet is filled of mixed messages, Dr van Tulleken was clear:

No, there is no doubt: ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption IS a health risk factor for Non-Communicable Diseases (eg. Diabetes, circulatory, obesity, ...).

There is plenty of evidence from independent scientists. If you read otherwise, check the list of authors, and check out for affiliations and conflicts of interest...

📑 On this very topic, a meta meta article was just published demonstrating " a higher risk of adverse health outcomes associated with ultra-processed food exposure. The strongest available evidence pertained to direct associations between greater exposure to ultra-processed foods and higher risks of all cause mortality, cardiovascular disease realted mortality, common mental disorder outcomes, overweight and obseity, and type 2 diabetes."
